The Challenge:
Physical space plays a critical role in learning, influencing student engagement, focus, and emotional well-being. However, designing and renovating educational spaces is often complex, time-consuming, and expensive. How can we make this process more inclusive, efficient, and accessible?

Designing educational spaces involves solving "wicked problems"-challenges that are complex, ill-defined, and have no single "right" solution. A Solution: Human + Generative AI
Generative AI is a powerful tool for tackling wicked problems. It enables educators, students, parents, and communities to participate actively in the design process. Through data gathering, co-designing, image generation and idea sharing, AI helps build consensus and garner support for funding, democratizing the design process.

This workshop introduces a new framework that combines Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs with a new series of AI generated Design Patterns, supporting emotional health and learning, as well as workforce skills as identified by the World Economic Forum. With Generative AI, we can reimagine educational spaces to better meet the needs of today's learners while preparing them for the future.
